COMMUNITY CRICKET AWARDS

This series of awards are to recognise the outstanding achievement that people within clubs make, to help cricket in the City function at a high level.

There are so many top contenders for each of the awards, that it is always hard for the judges to signal out the category winners.

The Peter Sharp Trophy

The Peter Sharp Trophy for Club Administrator of the Year is named in the memory of one of the great contributors to New Zealand, and particularly Canterbury cricket and club cricket in Christchurch for over 40 years.

This seasons winner has made a 32 year contribution to his club, both on the field and off the field. He has made over 11000 runs and claimed 367 wickets in grades including Senior A, 3A, Senior B and Presidents.

His notable contributions off the field include five years as President, five years as Vice-President and a number of years as assistant treasurer. He has also run the junior section this year and made a significant contribution to the establishment of North-West women's cricket, including undertaking the role of convenor over the last 18 months

This seasons winner has made a significant contribution almost all of the above!

She made her Premier debut in 2002 and is still going strong. She made her Canterbury debut in 2007 and White Ferns debut in 2011.

Coaching at Youth level over several years has enhanced her cricketing perspective, and personal growth, as she deals with the personalities and skills of her young charges and the pressure of supporting parents of those players.

She has been a valued member of her club committee and made significant contribution to the CMCA Women's Advisory Group, helping shape the future direction of the women's game.

In more recent times she has become a well-respected member of the Sky Sport cricket commentary team.
