Congratulations to the Christchurch Boys’ HS 1st XI for taking out the Ara Institute of Canterbury 1st XI Twenty20 competition in the final against Christ’s College. The final was the culmination of a four-week Wednesday after school competition.
Christ's batted first and got off to a steady start. Monty Rookes anchored the middle order, however, some tight bowling by Christchurch Boys', in particular by Angus Sidey and Raunaq Kapur, kept College to 107/7 off their twenty overs.
In reply, Christchurch Boys' got off to a quick start, with Aarush Bhagwat taking 64 off 46. College were never able to stem the flow of runs, and Christchurch Boys' hit the winning runs in the 15th over.
