FINALS DAY RESULTS


With the threat of Covid lurking firmly in the background, Metro Cricket were both excited and relieved that finals in the top four Men's grades were played on 27 February.In the OEM Audio Premiership the two top sides after round-robin play made it through to the decider.  Lancaster Park batted first and posted a modest 164/10.  That score looked like a good one with Burnside West staggering at 70/6, but an excellent partnership between Tom Zohrab and Scott Jannett got Burnside home.

The Championship final was a tight affair with Sydenham hosting Lancaster Park.  Sydenham posted 201/5 on the back of a Jackson Hemingway hundred.  Lancaster Park put up a strong chase but were bowled out 10 runs short.

Marist Harewood claimed the Division 1 game on the back of 129* by Hardeep Singh.  Hardeep played over 40 games of First Class Cricket in India before moving to New Zealand.

Hornby had lost the last three Division Two Finals, but got across the line in a low scoring but close match against Marist Harewood.
