Following discussions with NZ and Canterbury Cricket, we have settled on playing conditions under the Red Traffic Light. These are consistent with the rest of the country and have already been tested in regions who were subject to the Red traffic light before Christmas.
It is our shared responsibility to do our best to adhere to these strict delegation rules so we can continue to deliver cricket through our summer, so your help is appreciated.
Adult and Youth Community Club and School Cricket will be continuing to be played without My Vaccine Pass certificates with the number of participants allowed in a group now set at 25.
Supporters/spectators not directly involved with the match should be kept separate from the playing group.
Under the red setting supporters/spectators are considered a separate gathering to the players but must be separated from the playing group at all times by at least 2 metres. Each match could have multiple spectator groups of a maximum of 25 people providing each group is separated.
Similarly multiple games can be played on multi pitch venues providing each group (players or spectators) is limited to a maximum of 25 people and separated at all times.
Please also remember the importance of having everyone on the ground sign in using the QR Code. These can be found at grounds and on the CMCA website: http://www.christchurchmetrocricket.com/Club-Cricket/Ground-QR-Codes-1
Club rooms offering hospitality have already been operating under the vaccine pass regulations. The limit on guests is now 100, based on the space available. One square metre per person should be allocated.
Please note that Christchurch Boys’ High School, St Bede’s College and St Andrew’s College have a strict policy of no spectators at matches played on their school grounds. Each team may have a maximum of three adults who are essential to the management of the game. It is compulsory for these three people to wear masks.
If this extends to other schools we will provide an update.
